Qatar won the 2023 Asian Cup title, having outscored its Jordanian counterpart by three goals to one, in the final match held at Lucille Stadium on Saturday night.
The “Annabi” team qatar had taken the result first goal on the game through Akram Afif at the 22nd minute, from the penalty mark, and then Adil weighed Naimat for the “Nashami” Jordan team in the 67th minute with a shot from inside the box, before Afif added the second and third goals, at the 73rd and 90 + minutes of the penalty marks.
Qatar national team won the second consecutive continental title, having already been crowned last edition, 2019.
Jordan won the final of the Yellow Continent Championship for the first time in its history.
Qatar national team “Annabi” became the second Arab team in the history of the Asian Cup, succeeding in retaining the tournament title, with Saudi Arabia national team being the first to be crowned on two consecutive occasions.
Saudi team Lakhdar was crowned Asian in 1984 and 1988, knowing that he had won a third title in 1996.
Qatar star Akram Afif was crowned the competition’s best player and top scorer with 8 goals, while Mishaal Barshim, Qatar’s goalkeeper, was awarded the best keeper in the current edition of the tournament.
Qatar were also awarded fair play at the 18th Asian Cup of Nations.
