Rodrigo Lasmar, a Brazilian national team doctor, spoke about the condition of Saudi al-hilal star Neymar Junior, who is currently recovering ± from an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee.
As reported by Brazil’s globo network, LASMAR said the star of “Silissau” shows good progress in his recovery, but it is not yet possible to say when he will return to the stadiums.
He continued: “Neymar Junior is making good progress in recovery, but he still hasn’t even reached half the time we put him in, and as I said earlier after the procedure, he needs 9 to 10 months to be fully ready, and we’ll meet him again before that period to follow up on his condition.”
When did Neymar Junior’s injury occur with the Brazilian team?
The Brazilian star had come to al-hilal during last summer’s transfer window, coming from French club Paris Saint-Germain, in a record deal worth around €90 million, according to various press reports.
After joining Al-Hilal Club, Neymar Jr. suffered a severe trauma, after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee, during his international engagement with the Brazilian national team last October.
The 32-year-old underwent successful surgery to rebuild the anterior cruciate ligament and repair the knee’s meniscus, and is expected to be absent from the ranks of the leader until the end of the current 2023-24 football season.
Since coming to Blue, Neymar Jr. has played 5 matches across all tournaments, and Najem al-Hilal has managed to score a goal and provide 3 assists to his teammates, knowing that his current contract with the Saudi club expires in June of the year 2025
