Saudi alhilal striker aleksandar Mitrovic revealed a surprise to the fans of the Blue Team, via the club’s official account at the X platform, on Saturday.
Mitrovic suffered a ruptured hip back muscle during the March 30 youth match in the 25th round of the Saudi Professional Roshin League.
Al-Hilal announced in an official statement that Mitrovic would be out 6 weeks, but the Serbian striker said he could return only two weeks later under his rapid response to the treatment program.
“I’m working hard every day, and now two weeks after I’m injured things are getting better, my spirits are high, and I hope to return to the team in two weeks.”
He added: “I work out intensely most of the time today, so I feel better, the rear muscle is a lot better now, and I will start running on Monday if the radiation results are good.”
The Serbian attacker continued: “I want to return as soon as possible, I miss the al-hilal and the city of Riyadh, and excited to return.”
Mitrovic is spending the first period of the rehabilitation programme in Belgrade and will return to Riyadh in the coming days to complete the second phase.
In a different context, Mitrovic said, “I wished to play in the Saudi super, but I received a medal, and I have 3 more medals left”, referring to his quest to win the Saudi leagues, the Copa del Rey and the Asian Champions League.
Mitrovic has scored 33 goals in 36 appearances with Al-Hilal in all tournaments since the start of this season.
