abdullah-madu-officially-joins-al-ettifaq

Al-Ettifaq announced yesterday Tuesday that they have signed Saudi international Abdullah Madu, a player from Al-Nassr, for a four-year contract extending until 2028, as reported by the club.

The official Al-Ettifaq account on the platform X shared a video highlighting Madu’s key moments with the club and the Saudi national team, ending with the phrase “Abdullah Madu 2028.” The post was captioned: “Abdullah Madu… returns to continue the journey.”

In response, Al-Nassr bid farewell to Abdullah Madu by sharing a video titled: “A loyal son of the Al-Nassr Academy bids you farewell. He started as a youth player and ended his journey as the first-team captain. From all Al-Nassr fans, thank you, Abdullah Madu.”

It’s worth noting that the 31-year-old player joined Al-Ettifaq on loan in the second half of last season before making the move permanent.

A product of Al-Nassr’s youth system, Madu has been with the first team since 2012, winning the league title three times, along with the Crown Prince Cup, two Saudi Super Cups, and the King Salman Club Cup.

He also represented the Saudi national team in 15 international matches and was part of the squad that participated in the most recent World Cup, held in Qatar at the end of 2022.

Abdullah Madu is the third local signing by Al-Ettifaq during this summer transfer window, following the acquisitions of Madallah Al-Olayan from Al-Ittihad and Abdullah Al-Malki from Al-Hilal on loan.
