Saudi Arabia’s World Cup nomination file, the details of which were announced Wednesday, includes 15 stadiums, including 10 to be built and 5 to be developed.
When 2032, about two years before the World Cup kicks off, all stadiums will be ready, according to the file, which has set 2026 as the date for the start of stadium deliveries.
The start will be at Aramco Stadium in Khobar, and King Fahd Sports City Stadium in its new solution.
Stadium capacity will range from 45 thousand to 428 spectators, 92,000 to 760 spectators.
The biggest court is King Salman’s new stadium in Riyadh, which is supposed to embrace the opening and final games, the smallest being King Khalid University Stadium in Abha, which will be developed.
Saudi Arabia will build 10 stadiums, with 5 in Riyadh, 3 in Jeddah, 1 in Khobar and 1 in Neom, while developing 5 stadiums, 3 in Riyadh, 1 in Jeddah and 1 in Abha.
The country will establish King Salman Stadium, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, Square Stadium, Roshen Stadium, South Riyadh Stadium, Qadida Coast Stadium, Downtown Jeddah Stadium, King Abdullah Economic City Stadium, Aramco Stadium and Neom Stadium.
The playgrounds of King Fahad Sports City, Prince Faisal bin Fahad Sports City, King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, King Saud University Stadium and King Khalid University Stadium will be rehabilitated.
The file identifies King Fahd Sports City Stadium, after development, as the venue for the two semi-finals of the tournament, with Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, in Qadidah, hosting the third-place match.
