Al Arabi SC

Al-Arabi Sports Club, also known as Al-Arabi Al-Saudi, is a professional multi-sports club based in Unaizah, Saudi Arabia. The football team competes in the Saudi First Division League, the second tier of Saudi football.

Club establishment:

The Arab Club was founded in 1958 and was officially recognized in 1966. It was previously named "Al-Ahli." The club's establishment began with a group of young people from the city. Mr. Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Badi informally assumed the presidency of the club initially. Later, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Naim officially took over the presidency of the club, and he served as the club's president from its inception until 2010. There have been a total of fourteen presidents, and the club is currently led by Amin bin Abdullah Al-Mullah.

Al-Arabi club headquarters:

Initially, the club's headquarters were rented in one of the neighborhoods in the eastern part of Unaizah. After expanding its sports activities, the club moved to the "Hilaleh" neighborhood in 1970, but it didn't stay there for long. Subsequently, it relocated to another location on " Al-Salsalah Street." In 1976, it moved to its original location in the eastern part of Unaizah, where it remained until May 5, 1989, when it moved to its modern headquarters strategically located in the southern part of the Unaizah Governorate. The new headquarters were provided by the General Presidency for Youth Welfare (currently the Ministry of Sports). The facility includes football fields with natural grass, open fields for various sports such as handball, volleyball, basketball, and tennis, as well as a physiotherapy hall, an administrative building, a mosque, and a sports hall that can accommodate over 600 spectators, covering an area of 3000 square meters. This sports hall was inaugurated on September 24, 2007.

Al-Arabi Club's stadium:

The Arab Club only has a training ground that was formerly known as "Al-Suwail Stadium," and it was established in 1970. The club plays its official matches at either the Department of Education Stadium or the Al-Najma Club Stadium.

Al-Arabi Club achievements:

In the 1986/1985 season, the team qualified for the first time from the regional league and participated in the qualifying tournament held in Al-Hasa. The team succeeded in winning this tournament and earned the promotion shield. The team first entered the First Division in the 1986/1987 season and played in it for four seasons. In the 1989/1990 season, the team managed to qualify for the Saudi Professional League after finishing as runners-up in the First Division. The club played in the Saudi Professional League in the 1990/1991 season and finished in last place, resulting in relegation to the First Division. The team continued to compete in the First Division for four seasons before being relegated to the Second Division in the 1994/1995 season. In the 1995/1996 season, the club participated in promotion playoffs to return to the Saudi Professional League but did not succeed in qualifying. The club played in the newly established Second Division for the first time in the 1996/1997 season and remained there until relegation to the Third Division in the 1998/1999 season after three seasons in this tier. The club successfully returned to the Second Division in the 2001/2002 season after winning the promotion playoffs held in Najran. The team returned to the Second Division in the 2002/2003 season. In the 2008/2009 season, the club once again qualified for the Second Division after finishing in second place in the qualification playoffs. Currently, the team is playing in the Second Division in the 2012/2013 season.
