Jeddah

The Club is a Saudi sports club that was established through the merger of several other clubs in 1388, including Radwa, Al-Hilal Al-Bahri, Al-Tasami, Al-Salam, and Al-Talib. After the merger, it was initially named Unified Jeddah Club and later changed to Al-Thaghr Club in 1393, marking the historical evolution of this sports club.

Club establishment:

Founded in 1968, the club competes in the First Division League, the second tier of Saudi football. The club was founded in 1968 under the name of Al-Bahri Club as a merger of five clubs; Radwa, Al-Salam, Al-Tasami, Al-Taleb, and Al-Hilal Al-Bahri.

Jeddah club headquarters:

The club is located in the Al-Qurayat district in the south of Jeddah. The signs still bear the old name, awaiting the planning of the name "Jeddah." Meanwhile, the president, Ahmed Al-Badani, has revealed the reason for distancing the club from the name "Al-Rabea," as it resembled a commercial name.

The main stadium of the Saudi Jeddah Club is the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, also known as the "Jewel of Jeddah." This stadium is located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Club achievements:

In 2006, Club achieved a historic promotion from the third division to the second division. They concluded the 2009-2010 season in third place in the second division, marking their best-ever performance. Subsequently, there was a decision to increase the number of teams in different divisions, particularly in the first division, to 16 teams. This meant that Club qualified for the first division for the first time in its history. However, they later dropped back to the second division, On June 24, 2016, the club's management, members of the general assembly, and with the approval of the General Sports Authority and relevant authorities, decided to change the club's name from "Al-Rabea" to Jeddah Club, Currently, Jeddah Club competes in the first division after gaining promotion from the second division.
