A new form of the Custodian of the king cup

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation is set to unveil the new design of the Custodian of the king’s cup in the capital city of Riyadh on Wednesday, coinciding with the draw for the semi-final round of the competition. The draw will include Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al Khaleej, and Al-Ittihad. As per the federation’s official announcement

The launch of the new version of the cup comes as Al-Hilal retained the previous edition after winning it, marking their fourth victory in the same edition in 2015, 2017, 2020, and 2023. According to Article 27, Paragraph 4 of the competition’s regulatory regulations, the club that wins the cup thrice or four times intermittently has the right to possess the edition.

The Custodian of the king’s cup is considered one of the most prestigious domestic tournaments, with 10 champions historically crowned, including Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, Al-Shabab, Al-Ettifaq, Al-Wehda, Al-Faiha, Al-Faisaly, and Al-Taawoun.

The previous edition of the cup was launched in 2011.

It is worth noting that the King’s Cup champion receives a prize of ten million riyals, in addition to a direct spot in the Saudi Super Cup and the AFC Champions League (2).

The unveiling of the new design of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup reflects the Saudi Arabian Football Federation’s commitment to enhancing the prestige and significance of the tournament.
