Al-Ahli disclosed his contract with Welshman Lee Congerton to take over sports management functions at the Western Club, as announced via the “X” platform
Congerton has more than 20 years’ experience in sports management and is a prominent name. He worked at a group of English, German, Italian and Scottish clubs, served as scout director at Chelsea English 20042011 and technical director at Hamburg German 2011 -2014.
Congerton assumed a number of administrative tasks, including the position of sporting director of English club Sunderland 2014-2016, Director of Attractions for Scottish Celtic Players 2017 – 2019, represented with English club Leicester City 2019- 2020 and Director of Football of Italian club Atalanta 2022- 2024.

The Welshman speaks 52 years old English, German and Italian, as well as having a UEFA “Pro” training licence, an FA technical management licence, and sports and business management studies.
