The competition committee of the Saudi Football Federation has set the date and venue of the Saudi Super Cup over the past hours, according to press reports. Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr teams’ 2024 Super Cup match, which will be held in the semi-finals of the tournament, has been revealed in press reports.
Al-Hilal participates in the 2024 local Super Cup, as the champion of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, while Al-Nasr plays as runner-up to the Saudi League, next to the al-itthad of reigning champions Roshin, al-wehda and Cup runners-up.
In statements to Saudi sports newspaper Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr, insiders indicated that “on 9 April, they will meet in the semi-finals of the Super Cup, in the second meeting of that stage”
Abu Dhabi City was chosen to host the Saudi Super Cup, which will bring together its first confrontation between the al-itthad and al-wehda on April 8, meaning that the first showdown will be the night of Eid al-Fitr or the first day, according to Al-Hilal’s vision.
The al-hilal Derby and al-nasr will be on Eid al-Fitr in any case, with the final of the competition to be played on April 12 between the winners of the two matches.
The selection of this timing was due to the lack of games in the sporting season during that period, following the recent adjustments to the 2024 AFC Champions League dates.
The Saudi Football Federation is expected to announce the dates of the 2024 Super Cup in two days.
This is the second time that Saudi Super Cup matches have been held, with 4 teams participating as the federation succeeded in being crowned last edition.
