Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal surpassed Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona in the financial exchange rate during one season, breaking the 376 million euro barrier in player purchases this season after recently completing the deal with Brazilian full-back Lodi, for 23 million euros according to Transfair Market data.

The highest expenditure in Barcelona’s history during one season was in the 2017/18 season, when the Spanish club spent € 375 million on the purchase of players, most notably Ousmane Dembley of Dortmund worth € 135 million.

Alongside him was the highest expenditure for the capital club Real Madrid during one season is in 2019/2020, when the club disbursed 355 million euros as the Belgian Eden Hazard was the highest-cost arrivals worth 115 million euros.
