Serbia’s historic top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, striker of the Saudi al-hilal, won his country’s third career MVP award for the second consecutive time on Thursday.

The Serbian Football Federation announced the winner of Mitrovic, 29, after he transferred his English form with Fulham to the Saudi Professional League, to retain the award he received in 2018 and 2022, and is expected to receive it on December 29.

According to the Arab World News Agency, Mitrovic equalled Dusan Tadic, the former Ajax Amsterdam striker and current Turkish Finnerbahce, with the record of winning the award three times.

Mitrovic has scored 19 goals in 21 matches in all competitions for Al-Hilal this season, including 13 in the Professional League, two goals behind the competition’s top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of al-nassr, and four assists.

Aleksander Mitrovic played a pivotal role in the al-hilal finishing seven points clear of the  saudi professional league, especially after scoring a double in the 3-0 al-nassr club at the top of last round, and is preparing to visit Al Tai on Friday in the 16 round of Saudi professional roshn League.

Metrovic is also the country’s historic goalscorer with 57 goals in 87 caps, leading Serbia to qualify for the 2024 European Championships in Germany
