Al-itthad Club appointed Portuguese Domingos Suarez de Oliveira, CEO, as the company’s official spokesperson.
According to the official Western Club account on the X social networking platform, the move is an affirmation of the board’s confidence in Oliveira’s long-standing experience in sport, during which he served as CEO of Portuguese football club Benfica.
Oliveira was assuming his duties as CEO of al-itthad last October, in order to leverage his international experience to diversify the club’s sources of income.
Oliveira has previously held leadership positions in leading companies, including as CEO of Cap Gemini Technology,
as well as membership of the Board of Directors of the European Club Association between 2017 and 2019, and also between 2021 and 2023.
De Oliveira is one of the leading CEOs in his field, with more than 30 years’ experience, previously led Portuguese club Benfica, and held leadership positions in a number of leading companies, including heading Cap Jimini Technology.
He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the European Club Association in two different terms between 2017 and 2019 and again between 2021 and 2023.
Under his leadership as chief executive of Portuguese club Benfica, the club has achieved many achievements including 8 Portuguese Premier League championships and 3 Portuguese Cups.
The appointment of Domingos Suárez de Oliveira as a spokesperson for the club is an important step to strengthen the club’s communications and public relations.
His extensive experience is expected to contribute to supporting the club and enhancing its position in the sports and commercial sphere.
