Spain’s Laia Vinaixa, a psychiatrist, began her assignment at the al-itthad of Jeddah Club after Ramón Blanes, the dean’s sporting director, decided to sign her.

Dr. Laia Vinaixa had worked in Barcelona over the past season.

In the past weeks, Vinaixa has been hired to work on improving the team’s psychological condition, thus becoming the first psychiatrist for a club in Saudi Arabia.

Laia Vinaixa was accompanied by the al-itthad ‘s mission to Uzbekistan, where the dean is preparing to face Nafbakhur Uzbekistan on Thursday, in the final price round of the Asian Champions League.

The al-itthad club had announced the formation of a sports committee led by Domingo Suárez, Executive Director, and Ramón Blanes, sporting director, as well as Marcelo Jayardo, technical director.

Social media pioneers circulated a video of the psychiatrist contracted by the al-itthad Club during the recent period.

The clip showed the moment the psychiatrist “Leah Vinaixa” was present with the players after they arrived in Uzbekistan in preparation for the Uzbek confrontation with Navbakhur.

The al-itthad hopes that Vinaixa will contribute to motivating players and raising their spirits, especially as the match is a hinge of the team’s ACL career.
Vinaixa has extensive experience in sports psychology, working with many sports teams and clubs around the world.
Vinaixa is a strong addition to the medical staff of al-itthad  Club, which will help improve players’ performance and enhance their ability to deal with psychological stress during matches
