The first al-shabab football team from Italy’s Rome lost by two goals in their meeting on Wednesday at Al Awl Park Stadium in Riyadh as part of the Riyadh season, and the capital club celebrated the Diamond Jubilee.
The Italian side took the lead through Joao Costa in the 54th minute, Belgium’s Carrasco levelled the score for the youth in the 78th minute with a set ball shot near the 18th line, and five minutes before the end of the game Belgium’s Lukaku scored the winning goal for Roma.
After the end of the match, the Entertainment Authority honoured the Italian and youth teams of Rome, and Faisal provided the Executive Chairman of the Entertainment Authority with armour and gifts to the club members.
The match was attended by former club president Khaled al-Baltan, a number of former members of the club’s management, the Golden Youth Stars, Ahmed Ateef, Saleh Siddiq and Abdulaziz al-Sa ‘ran, Saeed al-Aairan and Khaled al-Shinif, as well as Ghanaian Atram.
On Thursday morning, the First al-shabab Football Team mission left for Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, to organize a preparatory camp during the current hiatus due to Saudi Arabia’s participation in the 2023 Asian Cup finals.
The camp is expected to last 10 days, with three test matches in front of a number of teams organizing its camps in the same city, and supervising the “Liuth” during which Saudi Arabia’s Saad al-Sibaie, interim coach.
