According to Saudi media reports, Algerian international Baghdad Bounnjah is on the brink of moving to a Saudi Roshen League club during the current winter transfer window.

These reports come after the 32-year-old starred with the Greens during the 2024 Africa Nations Cup and succeeded in scoring 3 goals during the tournament’s 4 games.

The Qatari “leader” star made the exception with the Desert Warriors in Al Kan, and was among the few names to perform well with his country team that was eliminated from the competition in the group stage.

The Saudi Sports newspaper revealed that Baghdad Bounnjah became close to moving to the Saudi al-shabab Club during the current winter transfer period.

The same source noted that the parties to the negotiations had reached agreement on many of the details of the transaction, leaving only the final contracts to be sent to the Algerian international for formal signature.

The sports newspaper Al Laith explained that only one contract could be entered into before the end of the current winter “Mercato”, and if the Baghdad deal was not officially decided by success, it would move towards signing one of the Saudi League’s active attackers on loan.

Bounnajah ‘s contract with Al Sadd expires next June, according to the global Transfer Market website. The player has the right to negotiate with any team to play for free next summer, but going this winter will make the club interested in its services required to offer a financial exchange to sign him.

Boundjah has been playing with Al-Zeid Al Sadawi since the summer of 2015. He is the club’s historic top scorer with more than 200 goals. During the current season 2023-2024, the Algerian international was able to score 10 goals and provide 3 assists in 16 games played in the Qatar Stars League and AFL.

Bounnjah has a very good career with Algeria, where he won 62 caps for the Greens, managed 28 goals and made 9 assists for his team-mates.

One of Bounnjah’s major achievements was the 2019 Africa Nations Cup in Cairo, as well as the 2021 FIFA Qatar Arab Cup in Doha.
