al-itthad coach Marcelo Gallardo took advantage of the end of the 2023-24 sports season and visited his former Argentine club River Plate; In order to attend a game for the club’s youth team, for whom his son Santino plays.

The 48-year-old coach took the technical helm of the Etihad club last November, succeeding Portuguese Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked for poor results.
The Brigadier General lived with Gaardo for a very poor season, losing all tournaments, and dropping the team’s ranking with him for fifth place in the Saudi Rosen League, which the club achieved last season’s title 2022-23.
Over the past period, Saudi press reports have indicated that the Federal Administration intends to remove Gaardo from his post and is considering signing Italian coach Massimiliano Alegre, who has left the club’s leadership.
