Recent reports have increased regarding the future of Saudi Al-hilal midfielder Ruben Neves.
Neves joined the Al-hilal in the last summer Mercato from Wolverhampton, with a contract extending until 2026.
Several press reports have recently indicated Neves is close to returning to the Premier League in Mercato Winter from Newcastle United’s loan portal, as well as to Arsenal, which places the player on their list of targets.
The Sun newspaper revealed over the past hours that there was interest on the part of Arsenal to include Ruben Neves in order to compensate the injured Ghanaian Thomas Partey.
Arsenal English club spokesman Dan Tolhurst noted in press statements that his club’s officials had not entered into any negotiations to include Portuguese First Al-hilal soccer team player Ruben Neves.
Tolhurst stated in a special statement that he receives every week inquiries about players Arsenal are considering signing during the next transfer window, pointing out that everything that hesitates about the club’s interest in including some names is just speculation on the part of the world media.
The English club spokesman stressed that inquiries about the many names the club wishes to include are frequent in each transfer window, noting that the club’s policy is not to talk definitively about players who have contracts with other clubs and all that hesitates about Neves and Arsenal is incorrect news.
The Gunners’ only interest was reportedly not as the Daily Mail revealed that Newcastle were considering the inclusion of Neves on loan, after confirming Sandro Tonali’s 10-month suspension from football against the backdrop of his involvement in betting.
According to press reports, Newcastle United officials began official talks to try to sign Neves, Al-hilal player on loan, to replace Sandro Tonali, who was suspended until August.
Journalist David Ornstein revealed that Premier League clubs are voting to ban loans between parties associated with the upcoming winter transfer window.
According to the journalist working at “the athletic”; If this decision is approved; Portuguese Ruben Neves will be barred from Al-hilal to Newcastle.
Neves started his professional football career from Portuguese club Porto, before making his spring with Wolves in six seasons there, in which he played 253 games and scored 30 goals, then left for Saudi Al-hilal last summer among several deals attracted by Saudi clubs.
Neves has played 17 games for the Al-hilal so far in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He remains an integral part of Portugal’s squad, led by Spanish coach Roberto Martinez, and has joined the team in the current break, in which Portugal will face off, which guaranteed qualification for the European finals, with Lichtenstein and Iceland at the close of the qualifiers.
