Brazil’s Malcom de Oliveira, player of the First al-hilal Football Team, was confirmed to be absent from the Saudi Super Cup, which kicks off on August 13 with a blue clash against his national counterpart in the semi-final at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha.
Last month, he was operated on by Dr. Lempini in the Finnish city of Turku.
Press reports revealed Malcom ‘s absence that Blue Star would not be helped to participate in the inaugural competition of the new season, confirming that he had registered an improvement and progress in his qualifying program, but that it did not mean his complete readiness ahead of his team’s upcoming Super Summit.
The Brazilian needs an adequate physical and technical preparation period to reach the final stage of full readiness.
Malcolm is undergoing a rehabilitation programme at the headquarters of the al-hilal Mission in Austria under the supervision of the medical apparatus, followed by Juan Jiménez of Spain, the team’s physician, after having performed the first phase in his country following the surgery.
The player was one of the keys to the blue to achieve the trilogy “Saudi Roshin League, Copa del Rey, Super Cup” last season, where he made 49 appearances, scored 23 goals and delivered 14 crucial passes, according to the global website Transvir Market.
The Brazilian took part in the victory despite the injury he suffers, and was able to help his team finish the sporting season impressively, by being crowned the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
Malcolm joined Blue, the capital, during the 2023 summer Mercato, from Zenit Saint Petersburg, Russia, in a deal worth more than 60 million euros, according to various press reports.
