Mitrović Reaches a New Record

The Serbian striker, Aleksandar Mitrović, of Al-Hilal‘s football team, has equaled the record set by Nigerian Odion Ighalo, becoming the second foreign player to score in five consecutive matches in the Saudi Professional League since its current format was introduced in the 2008-2009 season. Mitrović achieved this milestone by netting the opening goal against Al-Hazm, securing an impressive 9-0 victory for the Blue in the 14th round of the Saudi Pro League.

Mitrović’s remarkable goal-scoring streak commenced in the 10th round against Al-Khaleej with a narrow 1-0 triumph, followed by goals against Al-Ahli (3-1) in the 11th round, Al-Fateh (2-0) in the 12th round, and Al-Taawoun (2-0) in the 13th round. He now has an opportunity to establish a new record if he manages to find the net against Al-Nassr in the upcoming match scheduled for December 1st in Riyadh during the 15th round.

Alongside Mitrović’s impressive feat, Saleh Al-Shahri, a player for Al-Hilal, marked his first goal for the team this season during the match against Al-Hazm in the 14th round, contributing significantly to the team’s resounding 9-0 victory. Al-Hilal continues to showcase outstanding performance in the Saudi Pro League, securing a ninth consecutive win against Al-Hazm, with their most significant victory being a 4-0 triumph in the 2009-2010 season.

Away from their home stadium, the Al-Hilal team has accumulated 19 points, representing 50% of the total points earned this season, amounting to an impressive 38 points. Notably, the team scored 26 goals away from home out of a total of 43 goals.

In conclusion, Italian referee Fabio Maresca received a commendation from Mohamed Kamal Reisha, the exclusive refereeing analyst for Al-Riyadiya, for his outstanding performance in officiating the match between Al-Hazm and Al-Hilal. Reisha highlighted Maresca’s excellent fitness, precise movements, and effective positioning, leading to accurate decision-making without any controversial or impactful incidents.
