Saudi Arabia is organizing the 2034 World Cup

The FIFA Council approved the request submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to organize the 2024 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA President, Mr. Jean Infantino, said through his account on the photo-sharing application Instagram:

The Greatest Show on Earth will be organized by Canada, Mexico and the United States in 2026 – in North America. The next two FIFA World Cups are scheduled to be hosted in Africa (Morocco) and Europe (Portugal and Spain) – with three celebratory matches being held in South America (Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) – in 2030 and in Asia (Saudi Arabia) in 2034. .

He added: While we live in an increasingly divided and aggressive world, we are showing once again that football, the leading global sport, unites like no other. We all need these occasions of unity, and the upcoming World Cups provide a unique force for good in this regard.

Australia was the only competitor to Saudi Arabia to host the 2034 World Cup, but it withdrew from the candidacy race hours before the end of the deadline for submitting an application for organization, which strengthened Saudi Arabia’s chances before the International Federation officially decided that Saudi Arabia would win the organization of the World Cup.

It is noteworthy that in recent years, Saudi Arabia has hosted a number of major sporting events, such as Formula 1 and boxing races, and the Spanish and Italian Super Cups.
