Saudi Professional League football director Michael Eminalo has revealed a scenario in which Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah can be attracted to the starry tournament in the Middle East.
“Mo Salah is like Messi, Benzema and Ronaldo, and like Kevin De Bruyne, these are stars when we feel they are always available,” said Saudi Professional League football director Michael Eminalo in comments to Sky Sports.
He continued: “But we are also aware that Mohamed Salah is happy where at the moment he is inside a great club and a historically old one that is Liverpool, we respect that very much, and we do not want to overlap and put any pressure on the player
“But if there is any opportunity to do anything, absolutely Mohamed Salah is a player you like to be in the ranks of Doric, and in any league, we respect Liverpool, and in this scenario, the initiative to do anything that will not be on our part, there must be a shared interest from all the parties involved “The former Chelsea official also spoke about his personal opinion on whether Liverpool should accept an offer to come to Mohamed Salah in January.
He continued: “This is very personal, as for being a player I contracted with. (At Chelsea) And I love it, I’m not going to say something new or surprising, if Mohamed Salah is available and has the desire to come and all sides are compatible, I’ll be very happy. “The Saudi Federation of Jeddah tried to sign Mohamed Salah in the last summer transfer season, and despite news of the huge material value offered amicably it did not end up agreeing with Liverpool about the player to continue in the Reds waiting for what could happen with the January 2024 winter transfer season.
