Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of Saudi Arabia’s al-nassr team, was suspended for the first time after his historic rival Lionel Messi won The Best for the world’s best player in 2023.

Messi received the award after fierce competition with Norwegian Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, with whom he was equal in votes.

The award was won by Messi, although the vote was on achievements from 19 December 2022 until 20 August, and therefore the achievement of the flea to achieve the World Cup title did not fall within this period.

Ronaldo, who resumed his training with victory in conjunction with the announcement of the Messi Award, wrote via Instagram: “I’m back for more” with a symbol indicating strength and challenge.

Al-Nasr ‘s players returned to training after the end of their holiday, which began with their last match last year, on 30 December.

Messi successfully won The Best in history, after breaking the partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski.

Ronaldo was the first to win The Best for the first two editions of the award in 2016 and 2017, while Messi was crowned in 2019, 2022 and 2023.

Messi did not attend the ceremony on Monday evening in the English capital, London, and decided to stay in the United States of America and attend the training of his current club Inter Miami.
