the Press reports on Tuesday revealed the latest developments in the name of the city that will hosting the Saudi Super Cup tourenment.
Last season’s Super Championship was held in UAE IN Abu Dhabi and was crowned Team Al-hilal .
According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Youm, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City was selected in Abha to embrace the Saudi Super Cup.
The newspaper explained that the choice of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz City came because of the lack of readiness of King Fahd Sports City in Taif.
The tournament was scheduled to take place in China, but a dispute between the parties over the terms of the contract caused the termination of the earlier oral agreement.
This season, the Saudi Super Cup is contested by 4 clubs, “al-hilal , al- Ahli, al- Nasr and al- taawoun”, where the al-hilal team clashes with al- Ahli. Al-Nasr faces his cooperative counterpart.
The semi-finals will be played on the next August 13 and 14, and the final will be held on August 17.
It is worth mentioning that the last edition of the Saudi Super Cup was held in the UAE and crowned by Al-Hilal at the expense of the al-itthad first football team.
