E veterans of Saudi football’s first team player formerly crowned with the Asian Nations Cup to Qatar, according to Sports.
They are guaranteed travel by the Saudi Football Federation, which extended this invitation to them, in a tribute gesture, on the margins of the new edition of the tournament in Qatar.
The call covers all three of Asia’s green collections in 1984, 1988 and 1996.
According to the sources, some will travel to Doha, Qatar’s capital, by air, while others will travel by land from the eastern region, at their will.
On arrival, former stars will be received by the Federation’s staff to be escorted to their designated residence in Doha.
This gesture allows these players to follow the team’s journey in the current version and support its elements from the pitch. Qatar was the scene of the Falcons’ 1988 continental title,
after beating South Korea “4.3” on penalties in the final.
The first of the three titles was held by the Saudi national team on Singapore’s soil, while the last returned from the UAE.
