Starting from today, Wednesday, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation will launch the +SAFF platform for broadcasting all local competition matches that do not have exclusive broadcasting rights. The platform will begin live streaming matches on a trial basis starting today via the platform’s dedicated website, with applications for smartphones set to be launched within the next week.
Through this initiative, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation aims to establish a player database, particularly for youth players, to benefit national teams and clubs in analyzing player statistics and performance data. Additionally, it aims to assist coaches and scouts in talent identification and utilize digital player data. The platform also aims to provide referees with insights into their performance and opportunities for development and support. Furthermore, it aims to offer sports fans the chance to follow matches.
The platform will initially cover 20 competitions out of 62 equipped stadiums gradually. This step aligns with the efforts of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to contribute to the achievement of the strategic goals outlined in September 2021, which include the digital transformation pillar focusing on adopting technological solutions in performance and health monitoring to support talent development.
The digital platform will provide digital content for all Saudi Arabian Football Federation events and activities, serving as an important hub and communication point with the audience to keep them informed of the federation’s visual updates. It will also feature documentaries, match summaries, and competitions with exclusive broadcasting rights.
The +SAFF platform cameras, operating in various weather conditions, feature high-quality technology with multiple lenses and angles to ensure comprehensive coverage of the field. Cloud-based broadcasting technology will be employed without human intervention in production and filming. There will be a central broadcasting center in Riyadh to manage and transmit events via the platform.
