Torrenham-intensify-interest-in-Al-itthad-star

English club Tottenham have intensified their interest in Portuguese winger Jota, the Al-itthad club’s player, as the winter transfer market approaches, according to British newspaper The Times.

The 24-year-old winger will be available on loan next January, suiting Spurs who are looking for a temporary attacking option due to injuries sustained.

The Portuguese player’s possible transfer would bring him together with Angie Postecoglou, after the pair worked together at Scottish Celtic.

Jota has made only eight appearances for the Al-itthad since joining last summer, with a deal costing the club £25m.

The report says Tottenham’s priority is to bring in a centre-back in January, but they are also looking for a short-term replacement in the wing position, after Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic were injured for a long time.

Jota joined the ranks of the Al-itthad during the last summer transfer window, coming from the ranks of Scottish club Celtic, but so far things are not going well with the player.

Sky Sports has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their efforts to sign Jota in the upcoming winter transfer, on loan until the end of the season.

The network revealed that, within the the itthad jeddah club, there is openness to the idea of Jota leaving on loan in the winter, due to the rule that Saudi clubs restrict eight foreign players, and the Al-itthad must eliminate two players from the list of foreigners in the team, especially since the list currently includes 10 foreign players after the closure of the summer transfer door, while the regulations allow only 8 registration.
