Transfer Market has published its monthly report on the highest market value players in various leagues, including the Saudi League, whose players’ prices have varied significantly up and down, with 78 players receiving new ratings.
This summer’s transfer window broke the record for the most money spent on transfer fees, with Saudi clubs spending at least 957 million euros to include new players in a historic Saudi football transfer season.
The most expensive deal was to include Brazilian star Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain for €90 million, while top stars such as Karim Benzema and world champion N’Golo Kante joined in free transfer deals.
Radziewski, director of the Asia region at the site, explains that the current interim update of the Saudi Professional League is exceptional, with many top international stars moving from Europe’s top five leagues to the Kingdom. Although Al-Nassr player Cristiano Ronaldo has not received a new market value and remains at 15 million euros, things have nevertheless gone “down” for the veteran star, who has dropped to 23rd place on the Saudi League player list in terms of market value.
Radziewski said that calculating market values at Transfer Market takes into account different pricing models, and members of the site discuss the values of the player’s market and evaluate them in detail. The objective is not to predict the price, but the player’s expected value in the free market.
