Turki Al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, revealed an attempt to use new technology during the Riyadh Season Cup games, scheduled to be held between January and February 2024.
Turki Al-Sheikh wrote via his account on the platform “X” (previously Twitter): “Body camera with audio we try to use in the Riyadh Season Cass is reluctant to drop it to the Balehi.”
Football stadiums in recent years have seen the use of this technique, by placing a special camera on the body of a player or referee, to increase excitement and bring viewers closer to the atmosphere of the match.
The al- Riyadh Season Cup will be attended by both Saudi al-hilal team and al- Nassr team clubs and Inter Miami, with tournament games to be kicked off on 29 May this year, at Saudi Arena Stadium.
Ali Elbilehi, the defender of the “Blue Hilly” team, is preparing to participate in the tournament and is one of the top players in Saudi football in the past phase.
He said: “Al-Hilal team will open its stadium at the end of the month against Inter Miami, and huge requests to watch al- Riyadh Season Cup matches from many countries like America, Japan and China.
