Yesterday, Al-Ittihad Club training witnessed the return of Egyptian international defender Ahmed Hegazy to training after an absence that extended for a few months.
The club’s official account on the X platform indicated that Hegazy began physical training with the team for the first time in implementation of the rehabilitation program set for him to gradually return to matches.
Hegazy – who plays for the Egyptian first team – was injured during the Al-Fayhaa match in the penultimate round of the Saudi League competition (Roshan League) for the 2022-2023 season, on May 28, 2023.
The return of the Egyptian defender may open the door to his participation in the Club World Cup next month in Saudi Arabia, but he will not be able to participate in the league matches because he is not registered in the team’s first list in the summer transfers.
The federation’s list includes 8 foreigners: “Marcelo Grohe, Luiz Filipe, Fabinho, N’Golo Kante, Igor Cornado, Romarinho, Abdel Razzaq Hamdallah and Karim Benzema.”
Ahmed Hegazy can appear with Al-Ittihad in the AFC Champions League, as there are two matches remaining in rounds 5 and 6 of the group stage.
