Al-Ahli won the Egypt Cup title for the 39th time in its history after beating traditional rival Zamalek by 2-0 on Friday, at the First Park Stadium in the Saudi capital Riyadh
al-Ahli Imam Ashour and Mohamed Majdi “Afsha” registered in the 84 and 90 + 4 minutes after a confrontation managed by Brazilian referee Anderson Darunko in the presence of 25 thousand fans.
Al–Ahli, led by Swiss coach Marcel Koller, retained the title for the second consecutive season after winning the last edition on the account of Pyramids.
The meeting began with a physical rush between the players of the two teams, and Zamalek relied on early pressure while Zamalek defender Husam Abdul Majid removed a longitudinal ball for Ahly from Rami Rabia.

Schubert removed a surprise shot from Zizu, and Abdullah Al-Saeed directed a shot away from the goal and lost a Zelkawi header from Obama. Ashour drew a shot that was removed by Zamalek’s defence.
Solia fired a shot wide of Zamalek’s goal, Shubert grabbed a dangerous cross to the white team and Zamalek pressed the sides hard but ineffectually on the Ahlawi goal.
He turned away a longitudinal ball deep into Zamalek’s defence, and Abd al-Moneim saved a dangerous Zemalkawi attempt from Obama’s cross. Nasser Mensi fired a stray ball into Shubert’s hand.

Shikabala was involved at Zizu’s expense at the beginning of the second half in the Zamalek ranks, and Nedvid tried with a shot at Ahly without danger while Nasser Munsi missed a header away from goal.
There was a dangerous opportunity for Zamalek through Mustafa Shalabi, but the offside stopped her and Brazilian referee Darunko cancelled out a goal for Ahly scored by Hussein Shahat for offside.
A close Zulkawi opportunity was missed by an elaborate cross from Fotoh passed without follow-up, and Electric missed a close attempt with a header after the intervention of Husam Abdul Majid.
Zamalek engaged the duo of Saifuddin al-Jaziri and Nasser Maher at the expense of Obama and Nasser Munsi, and Awad grabbed a cross from Imam Ashour and then another through-pass by Awad.
