KAl-ettifaq coach Steven Gerrard has revealed the reasons for his move to train in the Saudi League and Cristiano Ronaldo’s role in his decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gerrard said: “With the arrival of Ronaldo in the Saudi League, I started to follow the league, some of its games, summaries, and increased in popularity with the presence of the player alongside a number of big players.<\/span><\/p>\n

“At the time of Ronaldo’s move to Saudi Arabia, I was looking for an opportunity and felt fascinated by the Saudi League. When my manager came to me with several offers from the Al-khaleej, I was curious to explore other patrols.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Gerrard added: “The offer of the Al-ettifaq was the most exciting; I signed for a club that I managed passionately and fully understands the situation and understands that the construction process needs time; So I made my decision then. “<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding his selection of former Liverpool captain gordan Henderson, he said: “As a coach you need players who look like the coaching staff and can play the role of coach on the pitch, and these qualities were already in gordan, and we have this mutual trust, and signing him was important to me; He still wanted to play; I therefore made sure it was my first deal. “<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued that “the deals that came after Henderson to the Al-ettifaq were thanks to his joining the team, he is a great player, a real leader on the field, he is a great example for young players to learn from, he knows the scale of the project and understands the phase of team building.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He spoke of Georginio Wijnaldum, saying: “Wijnaldum was not very involved in his injury, and his recent experiences did not make him happy; So he came to the agreement because he wants to smile again, play constantly, he is different from Henderson, but they agree with each other. “<\/span><\/p>\n
