The German coach of the Al-Ahli football team, Matthias Yaissleh, refrained from commenting on the performance of the referee in his team’s match against Al-Shabab, expressing his dissatisfaction with the draw. Al-Ahli and Al-Shabab settled for a goalless draw, officiated by Guatemalan referee Mario Escobar, marked by five yellow cards and controversial incidents, notably in the 52nd minute when Al-Ahli players demanded a penalty for a foul on Algerian Riyad Mahrez by Cuellar.

During the post-match press conference, Yaissleh responded to a question about the referee’s performance, stating, I don’t like to talk about refereeing, and you have eyes; you saw what happened during the game. He added it was a tough match, and I’m not happy with the result. We had many opportunities in the first half, but we couldn’t score. We could have ended the half with two or three goals, but we failed to score.
