Benzema Argentina’s Marcelo Giardo, head coach of the First al-itthad of jeddah football team, decided to exclude French striker Karim Benzema from the preparatory camp in the UAE city of Dubai, according to the Spanish newspaper Marka.
Spain’s Marca confirmed on Sunday that France’s player Karim Benzema was absent from the al-itthad ‘s training, so the Argentine coach decided to exclude him from the Dubai camp.
Benzema, like the rest of his teammates, had to join the al-itthad camp since Friday, but the Frenchman did not, prompting Giardo not to travel with the team, as the preparatory camp kicks off starting Sunday.
Marca also noted that the French star had already missed out on 3 training sessions before the end of the year in Jeddah, before the official holiday of the players began,
so he would not be on the al-itthad ‘s list in the preparatory period in Dubai, especially since his absence was not authorized by Marcelo Giardo, according to the Spanish newspaper.
Karim Benzema made 15 appearances this season for the al-itthad team during the Roshin Saudi Professional League, during which he scored 9 goals and 5 assists, in addition to scoring two goals in two games at the Club World Cup.
