The  al-itthad of Jeddah  Club announced its official contract with French coach Laurent Blanc to coach the team during the coming period, according to the Saudi club’s account on the “X” platform, Saturday, 13 July.

The al-itthad  has not announced the details of the contract, but according to various sources, the French coach will train the Saudi team for two years, with the option of extending for another season, until 2027

Laurent Blanc of France will lead the dean’s technical rudder, succeeding Argentine coach Marcelo Gallardo, who left by the end of last season 2023-24; due to poor outcomes.

During his career, Laurent Blanc (58 years old) led several clubs, starting with Bordeaux in 2007, leading him to be crowned Ligue 1 and French Super Cup on two occasions.

The French coach then oversaw his country for two years, before leading Paris Saint-Germain in a 2013-14 season succeeding Italy’s Carlo Ancelotti, and then left the capital club in 2016, having claimed the league title 3 times, the Cup twice, and the Super Cup 3 times.

In 2020, Al Rayan Qatari contracted Laurent Blanc before he was sacked in February 2022; Due to the decline in results and the team’s ninth place in the Qatar League Championship.

The Lyon Club was the last of Plan’s training stations, taking over in October 2022, succeeding Dutchman Peter Bush on a two-year contract, but his services were discontinued in September 2023 for poor results.

Blanc led his clubs in 446 games across his career as a coach, with 273 wins, 82 games tied, 91 times bitter, 837 goals scored by his players and 440 goals conceded, based on Transfair Market data.

The Jeddah Federation appeared poorly over the past season, losing all tournaments, and dropping the team’s ranking to fifth in the Saudi Rosen League, which achieved its title in the 2022-23 season.
