The management of Al-Ahli Club contracted with Welsh duo Daniel Nesbitt and England’s John Fern, to support the coaching staff of the first team football led by Germany’s Matthias Yessele.
The Technical Performance Analysis Section will be handled by Nesbitt, while Verne oversees the Western Club’s physiotherapy tasks.
Nesbitt has extensive practical experience in the areas of physical training and physical preparation, having previously served as a physical performance analyst at English club Bristol, as a leader in the English Federation’s Performance Coaches Programme, as head of physical strength at Swansea City and head of performance services at the Welsh Football Association.
Fern has many practical experiences. He received a postgraduate diploma in physiotherapy from St Mary’s Hospital in London, 1991, a master’s degree in neurological, neuromuscular and structural imbalance from University College London, 1997, and a “Level V” Football Advanced Management Certificate from the English Football Association, 2022.
Fern previously worked as a physiotherapist in the West Ham team 1997-2001, head of medical services at Reading FC 2001 2009, physiotherapist for Chelsea’s first team 2009-2023 and head of physiotherapy at Nottingham Forest 2023-2024.
Al-Ahli Club announced last Friday that it was signing Austria’s Alexander Hauser as assistant coach.
On June 9, Matthias Yassele asked Germany to supplement his technical staff with two assistants after working with three assistants last season.
