The head of the non-profit foundation at Al-Hilal Club, Fahad bin Nafel, was alarmed by the delayed issuance of the results of the project documenting the clubs’ championships in Saudi Arabia.
In January 2023, the Saudi Federation announced the launch of a project chronicling the historical events of Saudi football, to serve as a reference for all athletes, as it provides knowledge of the number of titles and achievements of each club.

Ben Nafel re-posted a post on his account on the X platform (previously Twitter), dating back to 2021, and bearing the wishes of the head of the Blue Hilly team to work seriously on documenting club championships.
Fahad bin Nafel said in a series of posts on Tuesday: “The Ministry of Sport has been instructing the referral to the Saudi Federation of the draft documentation of clubs tournaments for more than six and a half years, and the quoted tweet has been for nearly three years, after which I hoped that the Saudi Federation would go beyond all the circumstances invoked by the coronavirus pandemic and other circumstances.”
He added: “The surprise was achieved in January 2023 by the announcement of the project to document the history of Saudi football in cooperation with FIFA, with the participation of members of the General Assembly of club members, who nominate a working group and are voted on, which happened,” explaining: “It was agreed in accordance with the Charter that the deadline for the project will be 11 March 2024.”
Ben Nafel stated that “the days have gone by and the months have passed and the task force has not held a single meeting without convincing justification until what was expected in December 2023, cancelling the task force voted on at the beginning of the project”, “on the pretext of having teams that have stepped up, some club departments have changed…! The desire to nominate other people and other clubs has moved ownership “, he said.
Fahad bin Nafel al-hilal presedent revealed that there is a delay in the work of those involved, saying: “On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, the story comes back again, with rubber legal updates, results that seize the vote of clubs, not the experts of VIVA and the scientific documentation mechanisms, a story that we expect what the Saudi Federation will surprise us in its long chapters.”
Ben Nafel concluded: “In conclusion, the project to allocate clubs was launched from it a stage, and other stages remain as announced. The Club Championship Documentation Project requires that they keep up with these historic transfers.
