Omar Al-Husawi, the defender of the First Football Al-itthad team, performed surgery to remove the medical skewers placed in the leg, which caused him severe pain over the past days, and the operation was successful, the club’s official account revealed yesterday on the platform “X” social media site.
During the current season, al-Husawi played for the al-itthad team 17 matches, including 11 in the Saudi Roshen League, 5 in the Asian Champions League and one in the King Salman Cup for Arab Champions Clubs.
The duration of the player’s absence and the special treatment programme is expected to be determined by the attending physician with the team’s medical apparatus.
The Al-itthad is missing five defensive linemen, Luis Felipe, due to injury, and Egyptian Ahmed Hijazi because of a cut in the cruciate ligament at the end of last season, the same injury that removed Ahmed Sharahili early in the current season, as well as Muhannad al-Shanqiti and Omar Al-Husawi undergoing surgery.
