al-itthad player loaned from the agreement, Hamid al-Ghamdi, underwent macrophage-level surgery in a private hospital in London, confirming his absence from the team until the end of the 2023-24 season.
According to London’s Middle East newspaper, Al-Ghamdi presented his injury to a London macrophage injury specialist days earlier, and subsequently decided to carry out the procedure with the club’s medical staff.
The same source indicated that the al-itthad administration, together with the coaching staff, is fully convinced of the player’s potential, as there is a shared desire to obtain the services of Al-Ghamdi on loan for an additional season of his club agreement, and then buy the contract thereafter if the player proves his technical capabilities.
Al Ghamdi was contracted by Al Ghamdi during the last winter transfer window, on loan for 6 months, with the option to buy permanently from the agreement club after the end of the loan period.
Al-Ghamdi has provided good levels with the Tigers in the past period, despite a decline in the club’s results in the Saudi Rosen League, which was crowned last season by the al-itthad team.

Hamid al-Ghamdi’s numbers with al-itthad
Saudi midfielder Hamid Al Ghamdi (25 years old) made 17 appearances for the al-itthad across all competitions, managed to find the net once, and also produced two crucial passes, based on the data of the Transfair Market website.
The al-itthad is having a very poor season, and is on course to emerge empty-handed from all tournaments, having bid farewell to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup from the semifinals, following the loss of its stadium by Al-Hilal (1-2).
The federal team is also in fifth place in the table of the Saudi Roshen League, owning 50 points up its sleeve, and has no hopes of contesting the title, which is headed in a large proportion to the leading crescent with 86 points.
On the continental level, the Federation was knocked out of the Asian Champions League in the quarter-finals, after losing from the crescent back and forth with a clean double, as well as failing to clinch the title of the Diriyah Super Cup, after also defeating the Crescent in the final (4-1).
