The al-itthad club announced on Monday that Muhannad Shinqiti and Omar Husawi, the first team soccer duo, needed surgical intervention, after the first was injured in the back muscle and the second felt pain in the position of the medical skewers, according to the official club account of the “X” platform of the social media site.
“The medical examinations carried out by the player Muhannad Al Shinqiti on the location of his injury sustained during the last team encounter in the quarter-final of the Club World Cup showed his need for surgery on the rear muscle, with the first team football medical and administrative staff coordinating the dates for the player’s departure to Finland for the procedure.”
The al-itthad Jeddah account added: “During the next two days, the player Omar Hussawi will undergo surgery to remove the medical skewers from the leg, after feeling some pain in their position, which led to his exclusion from the last team game.”
On the other hand, the players of the first team of the Etihad club under the leadership of Argentine coach Gaardo were subjected to a training session on Monday evening.
Benzema scored the al-itthad’s only goal against Al Ahli Egypt in Friday night’s quarter-final Club World Cup (90 + 1).
