The Saudi Football Federation revealed “Haddaf,” which is the name of the official mascot for the World Club Cup, which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host next month.

The tournament is scheduled to be held from December 12 to 22 at the King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal stadiums.

The Saudi Football Federation said in a tweet on its Twitter account on Monday evening: “Welcome the goal scorer of the official mascot of the 2023 Saudi Club World Cup, which is inspired by the sand cat. Welcome champions.”

The tournament will include teams Manchester City of England, Club Leon of Mexico, which is participating for the first time, Al-Ahly of Egypt, Asian champion Urawa Reds, Auckland City of New Zealand, and the new winner of the Libertadores Cup Fluminense, in addition to the Saudi champion Al-Ittihad.

Al-Ittihad team, representing Saudi Arabia in the tournament, suffers from fluctuations in results throughout the recent matches, the last of which was a defeat by two unanswered goals from the Iraqi Air Force team in the Asian Champions League.

FIFA wrote on its official website on this occasion:

(With his speed, strength and courage, Haddaf will be a source of fun and entertainment for football fans of all ages. Haddaf’s homeland is the sand dunes in the western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and he has acquired the skills of shooting the ball since he was a little kitten kicking the ball with his paws, to share his love of the beautiful game with all… Saudis throughout the country).

The third phase of ticket sales to the general public will begin on Wednesday, November 8, at 1 p.m. local time on the FIFA website. Tickets will be offered for all matches and in all categories. Tickets can be obtained through the website until the end of the tournament, provided that they are available.
