In a recent development at Al Ahli Club, German coach Matthias Jaissle has decided to exclude 22-year-old striker Haitham Asiri from participating in the current season. According to sources speaking to “Al Riyadiya”, Jaissle’s decision stems from his lack of conviction in Asiri’s technical abilities.
As a result, Asiri plans to submit an urgent request to the club’s management for permission to leave during the upcoming winter transfer period, particularly if the German coach continues to exclude him. Earlier, Asiri’s agent had presented a proposal to the club’s management for the player’s transfer at the end of the summer transfer period, but the management rejected the offer and kept the player on its roster.
It should be noted that Haitham Asiri wishes to stay with Al Ahli, considering the club his first choice. However, this depends on Jaissle’s future with the team or finding a solution to the existing disputes. In a related context, the club’s management refused to comment on Asiri’s current situation.
Asiri had been called up to participate with the Saudi Under-23 national team in a trial tournament in Khobar, but he was later excluded due to medical unpreparedness. It is worth mentioning that Asiri’s last participation with Al Ahli was in a match against Abha in the King’s Cup, where he played for only 3 minutes.
