According to quite a few sports media reports, it appears that international coaching star Jose Mourinho may move to lead the Jeddah Ittihad Tigers team during the next short period.
Mourinho – 60 years old – is currently coaching in the Italian League, specifically leading the Roma team.
The Italian newspaper Diretta reported news that the agent of the famous coach received notice of approval for Mourinho to train in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and perhaps the Al-Ittihad team is the closest to winning his services, in addition to an offer from the Saudi Al-Hilal.
The federation is currently led by Portuguese Nano Santos, but the team’s results were disappointing 12 weeks after the league championship, which may prompt the team’s management to change.
The name of the Portuguese coach was linked to training Al Hilal Club at the beginning of the season, which was not implemented on the ground.
In addition to the league championship, Al-Ittihad Club is waiting for a big challenge next month in the Club World Cup tournament organized by Saudi Arabia, with 8 champion teams in the world.
Al-Ittihad begins its 2023 FIFA Club World Cup campaign against New Zealand’s Auckland City, the OFC Champions League champion, with the winner between them facing Al-Ahly of Egypt, the African Champions League champion, in the quarter-finals.
Al-Ittihad Club is participating in the twentieth edition of the Club World Cup as the champion of the Saudi Roshen League for the 2022-2023 season, marking its second participation in the Club World Cup.
