Abha Club was founded in 1966 in the city of Abha, in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia, often referred to as the "Southern Leader." Over the years, the club has experienced various phases in the world of football. It first ascended to the Saudi Professional League in the 2007-2008 season, later descending to the First Division in the 2008-2009 season. However, through dedication and effort, Abha Club reclaimed its position in the Saudi Professional League in the 2018-2019 season. The club is owned and supported by the Saudi Ministry of Sports, under the leadership of Ahmed Al-Hadithi and the current coach, Martín Sevilla. Most of the team's matches are held at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Stadium, a prominent sports venue in the Asir region. Abha Club remains a source of pride for the Asir region and the entire Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, continuously contributing to the development of sports and achieving remarkable success over the years.
