The al-itthad ‘s technical management is trying to persuade Portugal’s Jota Felipe, the first-team soccer wing, during a meeting on Monday to leave the Tigers, this summer, either on loan, or permanently transferred.
The meeting reviewed options for the parties, including the player’s departure to open with the two clubs contributing to the same salary as the Western Club.
Reports indicate other solutions that Etihad, headed by Engineer Louai Mashabi, may resort to to to remove the wing with minimal damage after it was discharged for technical reasons from the team’s plans, trained by France’s Laurent Blanc. In the same vein, sources confirmed the increased likelihood of Brazilian defender Luis Felipe leaving the club, this summer,
for failing to extract satisfaction with his performance during the preparation period, but stressed that the Federation has not taken any effective step towards him, yet, and is waiting for a budget that will allow solutions to be found.
The western club signed Jota from Celtic Scotland, and Felipe from Real Betis, Spain, last summer.
Jota missed most of the first half of Saudi Arabia’s Roshin League after being removed by technical decision from the local list, to which he returned in the winter.
The al-itthad currently has contracts with eight foreign players, including Jota and Felipe.
